Marriage is a very divine ritual in India, it still is the biggest occasion in one's life. I never saw any other event being celebrated in such a grand way like marriage. Think of the Big Fat Indian Weddings, Millions of rupees spent on a single day. So much cost involved and so much attention and care paid into this. This is great....
Ever thought, how many marriages last life time, if they last a life time also... how many couple found their true love in the better half. I just turned around and tried finding out about this. And I found many people's marriages are or will last a life time and some are not, some are unhappy but still living..
No this is not the giving me enough picture, so I classified the marriages happened using time bands.

The Marriages happened during each decade.
The 80's - Marriages:
These are mostly nice to see couples, having children about to get married, these couple have lived their married life and there are very rarely any divorces.
The 90's - Marriages:
These are also nice to see couples struggling to make a mark in the society having children either going to college or just passing out.
The 2000's - Marriages:
There is a mix of good, bad and the ugly ones here. The marriages happened during the last 10 years have more divorces. and one more interesting fact is there are many couples who are living under one roof just for the sake of society after marriage. These people think about the society and kids and anchor themselves to the family system. The Good ones are few who gel well together and live a happy life.
The 2010' - Marriages:
The Ultra latest marriages, mostly love marriages and hip one's. These are looking rosy in many ways, and one good thing about this is people are having choice to select their partners. And things here are very fast :) Love, marriage and divorce... these happen in a span of one year or less also.
The other day I watched a program on Satyameva jayate Hosted by Aamir Khan, speaking about Love Marriages, I am impressed the way the issue of choosing one's better half has been portrayed.
If the Family supports the child any and every problem in this world is just a cake walk.
I would urge all those parents to love your children and let them choose their life partners. Yeah there might be some cases which may fail, but with your support they can stay, as they have lasted during the old days, when there were arranged marriages.
Long live all the Marriages... Happies...
